CHENNAI: Actor Rajinikanth’s fan club is organising a five-day consultation with its district-level office-bearers from Wednesday.  It is learnt that the meetings are to take stock of the membership enrolment in each district before the actor could convert it into a political party.

Rajinikanth has already rechristened his fan club as ‘Rajini Makkal Mandram’ after he made his intentions of political plunge clear on December 31 last year. Since then Rajinikanth has appointed functionaries to his fan club at various levels, including different wings like women, advocates, IT and youth wing. The functionaries have been working on enrolling more members in the fan club. The consultative meeting, to be held from Wednesday at the actor’s Sri Raghavendra Thirumana Mandapam, Kodambakkam, will witness district functionaries giving status on the enrolment of members and the challenges they are facing.
According to sources, only a few districts are finding it difficult to reach the target enrolment of membership and state-level workers would guide them to attain that.
