Of the 2.08 lakh students who appeared for the SSLC supplementary examination, a total of 40.69% passed the boards. This, however, was a sharp decline from the last SSLC supplementary examination where 50.81% of students cleared the examination.

The results of the examination — held in June 2018 — will be announced online on Thursday, and will be made available in schools on Friday said V. Sumangala, director, Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB).

According to data released by the board, 38.4% of students from government schools cleared the examination.

The pass percentage of students from aided and unaided schools was 42.

While 37.93% of the boys cleared the exam, the pass percentage for girls — in keeping with past trends — was higher at 45.55.

As in the March 2018 examination, this time too, rural students with a pass percentage of 41.58 points fared better than their urban counterparts at 39.8%.

A press release issued by the KSEEB stated that Belagavi district with 65.56% passes topped the supplementary results, while Yadgir district with 12.22% recorded the least percentage in the supplementary examination.
