Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao has directed officials to complete the land acquisition for Kaleswaram canals in one month.
Participating in a review meeting on Kaleswaram canals, Mission Bhagiratha and double bedroom houses in the district along with Deputy Speaker M. Padma Devender Reddy held here on Thursday, Mr. Harish Rao said better compensation should be offered to land oustees at the earliest. Informing that about 2.6 lakh acres would be supplied with irrigation through the canals, Mr. Harish Rao said the neighbouring constituency Andol will also be benefited.
He was disappointed with deputy executive engineer of irrigation department when the latter said he had not met with the revenue divisional officer. Instructing the Collector to ensure that owners of assigned lands got compensation on par with farmers with patta land, he also said it’s not impossible to bring Kaleswaram water to Medak district if officials worked hard.
