FALL RIVER — The dedication is complete.

A bronze plaque has been added to the Manny Papoula Basketball Court at Ruggles Park. According to Ed Hill, the driving force behind last fall’s court dedication, a local businessman stepped up to the plate financially to make the plaque possible. It is mounted, on stone, beneath the sign at the north end of the court.

Hill also noted that plans are in motion for Papoula, the former Durfee High hoop star, to visit his Boston College hoops coach, NBA Hall of Famer Bob Cousy, in Worcester. Cousy last fall said he would have liked to have come to Fall River for the dedication. Sounds like Manny was one of Cooz’s favorite players.
