49 shops razed along K Stadium

Enforcement team comprising officers and staffs of the BDA, BMC and Commissionerate Police continued evicting encroachments in and around of the boundary wall of the Kalinga Stadium ahead of the Odisha Men’s Hockey World Cup 2018.

A total of 49 illegal structures, including 44 AC tin shed shops, a hotel, three cabins and an unauthorised Omfed booth, were demolished near the Gate 6 of the stadium.

A hotel named ‘Maa Mahima Dhaba’ could not be evicted as its owner produced an order of status quo obtained from the High Court. The eviction drive was carried out peacefully.

Among others, BDA officers Pramod Kumar Patro, Subhransu Sekhar Mohanty and ACP Kishore Chandra Mund were present.
