Hry to extend supply of fortified food to PDS shops in two districts

To give momentum to food fortification in the State, Haryana Government has decided to extend the supply of fortified food to all Public Distribution System (PDS) shops in Ambala and Karnal districts from September 1 through HAFED.

This was stated by Rajesh Khullar, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, at a meeting held on food fortification, including oil, milk, wheat and rice, by the Department of Food & Supplies, here.

Giving details, he said that under the ongoing pilot project, fortified chakki atta was being supplied in Barara and Naraingarh blocks of Ambala district. 

Now, it would be extended to all PDS shops in Ambala and Karnal, including Anganwadis of these districts.
