The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Wednesday stayed the FIR proceedings initiated against Vaigai Selvan, spokesperson of the AIADMK, and his brother Suresh. Justice D. Krishnakumar stayed the FIR proceedings and dispensed with their personnel appearance before a lower court. Mr. Vaigai Selvan was charged under various Sections of the Indian Penal Code for allegedly having distributed pamphlets against the DMK during the 2016 Assembly election campaign in Aruppukkottai in Virudhunagar district.
