KEONJHAR: A Class IV student of Barigaon Upper Primary School under Ghasipur police limits died of snake bite inside the classroom on Wednesday. The girl, Mamali, daughter of Pramod Sahu of Barigaon village, was in the school when around 1 pm, she was bit by a poisonous snake inside the classroom. Other students informed class teacher and headmaster of the school but they did not take the matter seriously. During recess when Mamali did not come to have her mid-day meals, students informed some locals who admitted the girl to Anandpur subdivisional hospital. Doctors, however, declared her brought dead. Following the incident, the Block Education Officer placed headmaster Keshab Chandra Sahoo under suspension.
