Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro gets official LineageOS version 15.1

The LineageOS version 15.1 brings features like Privacy Guard, Live Display, Button/Gesture customization, and stock apps such as the Eleven Music Player and Snap Camera.

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 5 Pro in February this year, and recently, the company announced that it will soon roll out the MIUI 10 ROM in to select number of phones, including the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The best thing about Xiaomi phones -- which run on Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC -- is the availability of numerous custom ROMs allowing users to opt out of MIUI atop Android OS. A report claims that this version has loads of feature sans the bloatware that MIUI has.

LineageOS 15.1 version is based on Android 8.1 Oreo and includes features such as picture-in-picture mode, Autofill apps, notification channels/snoozing, and native support for theming. The latest ROM also brings features like Privacy Guard, Live Display, Button/Gesture customization, and stock apps such as the Eleven Music Player and Snap Camera. To recap, Xiaomi launched the Redmi in India with Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC and the Face Unlock feature. It comes in a 4GB RAM/32GB ROM model and also a 6GB RAM with 64GB internal storage variant. The device features a 5.99-inch FHD+ 18:9 display with a 2160 x 1080p resolution. In the camera department, it is equipped with a 12MP + 5MP dual rear camera setup with f/2.2 aperture lens and f/2.0 aperture respectively on the back. On the front, it has a 20MP sensor with Selfie-light and Beautify 4.0 feature. It features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and is backed by a 4000mAh battery.
