Three dead after fiery crash near Queanbeyan
Three people are dead after a fiery head-on crash near Queanbeyan overnight.
Emergency services were called just before 11.30pm on Wednesday after a Ford Falcon sedan and a Citroen sedan collided on the Monaro Highway at Michelago.
The Citroen caught fire, and the driver and a passenger died at the scene. The driver and only occupant of the Ford sedan also died at the scene.
An 11-year-old boy who was travelling in the Citroen was the only survivor of the two-vehicle crash on Wednesday night.
A police spokeswoman said the boy suffered minor injuries and was taken in a stable condition to Canberra Hospital.
Officers from the Monaro Police District are investigating the cause of the crash, and the Monaro Highway is likely to remain closed for a number of hours.
