Former Kaizer Chiefs striker jailed in the UK

A FORMER Kaizer Chiefs striker has been sentenced to three years’ imprisonment in England.

Liberty Musunda, a former Zimbabwe international, was found guilty of defrauding the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) out of R7,8 million in maternity payments.

According to the statement from DWP, the 43-year-old was part of a 12-man syndicate of Zimbabwean foreign nationals who created 165 fake profiles to draw the grant payments in the UK.

Masunda played for Amakhosi in the 1997/98 season. — KickOff.
