Shiroor Mutt seer Laksmivara Teertha Swami dies of food poisoning

Shiroor Mutt seer Laksmivara Teertha Swami died of food poisoning on Thursday morning. He complained of severe stomachache after he had food with college students who were in Shiroor to celebrate Vanamahotsava. Mutt Sources said he neglected it and did not take proper medication which led to excessive vomiting that affected his blood pressure. Later he was admitted to the Kasturba Hospital when condition worsened. Doctors said swami ji had food poisoning. The Swami ji created a flutter when he announced that he would contest in Karnataka assembly elections.
