Aircel Maxis case: CBI files fresh charge-sheet, names P Chidambaram as co-accused

P Chidambaram has been listed as an accused in the supplementary charge sheet filed in Aircel Maxis case.
A day before the no-confidence motion in the parliament, the Congress received a major jolt as former finance minister P Chidambaram and his son Karti Chidambaram have been named in a fresh charge-sheet relating to Aircel Maxis case. P Chidambaram has been charged for misusing his power and position.

P Chidambaram has been listed as a co- accused in the supplementary charge sheet filed in Aircel Maxis case, his son Karti Chidambaram was already an accused in the case. Patiala House Court is to take cognizance of the matter on July 31.

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today filed a fresh charge-sheet in Aircel Maxis case in Delhi's Patiala House Court.

CBI also named two government officials in the charge-sheet. These two officials have been chaged with 'Abuse of Power'.

In September last year, the ED had attached assets worth Rs 1.16 crore of Karti and the firm allegedly linked to him in connection with this case.

The ED, in 2016, had filed a charge sheet in this case against former Telecom minister Dayanidhi Maran, his brother Kalanithi Maran and four others.
