Frantic search for two-year-old boy missing after bizarre car mishap
A frantic search is underway for a two-year-old boy who went missing after he was "accidentally" put in the wrong car on Thursday afternoon.
The car was parked at Chicken Treat on Doric Street in Scarborough at around 2.40pm when Richard, who also answers to Bubsy, was accidentally put inside.
The car was then driven away by a woman believed to be in her 50s.
David Speyers was at the Doric street address at the time of the incident, and said those who were at the scene were doing everything they could to help the mother.
"The [woman] was obviously very concerned," he said.
"She's very worried. There's just a lot of people looking - as soon as it happened a bunch of citizens were trying to help her and find out if there was anything they could do.
"Police are there now, there's about four cop cars and there's a bit of media around."
The car is a white Mazda 2 sedan, and the woman was wearing dark trousers with a white top and a stone-coloured vest.
Richard is described as fair skinned, with brown eyes, was wearing blue and white striped track suit pants and a dark blue jumper.
Anyone with information regarding Richard’s whereabouts or of the female driver is asked to call Police immediately on 131 444.
