PARIS: Retired Italian midfielder Thiago Motta has been named coach of Paris Saint-Germain's U19 squad.

The 35-year-old enjoyed a magnificent playing career, winning a total of 27 trophies, including 18 with PSG between 2012 and 2018, reports Efe.

Capped 30 times by Italy, Motta begins his new life as a coach on Wednesday with PSG's U19 squad, who are four-time national youth champions (2006, 2010, 2011, 2016).

Motta played 231 matches for the Paris outfit, scoring 12 goals and providing 18 assists.
