Five houses partially damaged in Koyilandy taluk

Heavy rain continued to disrupt life in the rural areas of Kozhikode district on Tuesday.

At least five houses were partially damaged in Koyilandy taluk. The district received 22.4 millilitres of rain on Tuesday.

Schools in Koodaranhi, Thiruvambady, Kodencherry and Puthuppady were given a holiday in the wake of the downpour in hilly regions.

24-hour control rooms have been opened in all the four taluks.

Strong winds from westerly direction, speed occasionally reaching 35-45 kmph, gusting to 60 kmph, are likely to occur along and off Kerala coast and over Lakshadweep area.
