NEW DELHI: Nearly 400 students got an opportunity to get admission in Delhi University after errors in their forms were fixed during a two-day special drive that ended on Tuesday. There were many others who managed to fill the forms in the NCWEB category after missing out on it earlier.

A DU official said that most students at the special drive were those who wanted to change their category from general to SC/ST or OBC. Reena Yadav, an aspirant from Gurgaon with 78% marks, attended the session to change her category. "I want to pursue either computer science or mathematics. I have also appeared for JEE Mains and I'm awaiting its results. I hope to get admission in DU if I don't clear the entrance exam," she added.

With these changes, the number of applicants is going to increase in the sixth cutoff list in which only a few colleges have general seats open. However, an HC order has advised colleges that students who had applied for revaluation and now have marks that make them eligible will be considered for admission irrespective of seat availability.

Admissions in the sixth cutoff list will take place from July 18 to 20.

BA (programme) is still open at several colleges in the general category, including ARSD, Aryabhatta, IP College for Women and Ramjas. Many students who attended the special drive requested that BA (programme) be added to their forms as it was a course that could help them prepare for civil services.

The university also announced that applicants who could not get their category changed during the special drive may send an email to ccadmission.dsw2018@gmail.com along with the scanned copy of registration form and category certificate by 5pm on July 19.
