8 Tito aides nabbed from Cuttack

Continuing its crackdown against the crime network of gangster Sheikh Usman Ali alias Tito, the Special Task Force (STF) of the Crime Branch detained eight persons from Cuttack for their alleged links with the notorious criminal on Monday night.

The STF along with the Commissionerate police conducted simultaneous raids at various places here and detained the eight persons. The officials are now interrogating them on various angles.

The eight accused are allegedly involved in various crimes like murder, extortion and tender-fixing.

Cuttack DCP Akhileshwar Singh said that those who have been picked up have criminal records. Investigations are on about their links with Tito and about the various crimes they are involved in.

Sources said police are planning to shift Tito from the Kendrapada jail to the Choudwar Special Jail.
