Man held for derogatory remarks against CM

A special team from the Central Crime Branch (Cyber Crime) of the Chennai City police arrested C. Sivakumar of Tiruvarur district on Monday for allegedly posting defamatory messages on social media against the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister. The accused was produced before a judicial magistrate who remanded him in custody. The accused, a resident of Vettikadu village, Paruthikottai in Mannargudi, has been lodged at the Puzhal Central Prison.

The police said, Sivakumar was arrested on a complaint filed by Sureshkumar of Pattinapakkam in Chennai. Similarly, the CCB also received complaints from two women alleging that he had posted their morphed photos and was digitally stalking them. The CCB filed three cases against Sivakumar.
