Parliament's Monsoon Session: Anurag Thakur appointed BJP's chief whip in Lok Sabha

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday appointed Anurag Thakur the party's chief whip in the Lok Sabha, a day before the start of Parliament's monsoon session. A former president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Thakur replaces Rakesh Singh, who was appointed the Madhya Pradesh BJP president in April this year. Thakur, who is a member of parliament from Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh, was president of the BJP's youth wing. His task will be to ensure party discipline.
