CM approves Rs 3.50 cr N’rangpur projects

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday launched the ‘Ama Gaon, Ama Bikash (AGAB)’, a scheme aimed at empowering grassroots-level elected representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions, in Jharigam block in Nabarangpur district through videoconferencing mode.

The CM approved different developmental works costing  Rs 35,053,000 in the block. As many as nine projects would be implemented in the panchayat, including construction of village roads, bridges and houses for the poor. The CM urged the officials to complete the works in an early date.

Speaking to the mediapersons, local MLA and Minister Ramesh Majhi said the programme aims at strengthening the village panchayats and hence, is a fitting tribute to legendary leader and former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik, who played a pivotal role in development of the three-tier PRI system in Odisha. Among others, Nabarangpur MP Ballabhadra Majhi, Collector Ajeet Mishra, SP Vivekananda Sharma, District BJD president Prahalada Tripathy,Zilla Prasada vice-chairperson Nibedita Mohanty, MP representative Pramad Padhy, Bulu Das and Motiram Nayak were present.
