PMK founder S. Ramadoss on Tuesday said that the fact that students who have received ‘0’ marks or even less in two of the three subjects in NEET have also been given admission in medical colleges show that entrance exam cannot improve the standards of medical education.
In a statement issued in Chennai, Dr. Ramadoss said that this fact alone is enough to disprove the Centre’s argument that NEET is essential to improve the standard of medical education and selling of medical seats.
“In 2017, 1,990 students who scored 150 or less out of the maximum score of 720 had joined medical courses in private medical colleges,” he said.
