Jharkhand Assembly passes supplementary budget by voice vote

Press Trust of India  |  Ranchi

The Assembly today passed Rs 2596.86 crore supplementary budget by voice vote amidst din in the House.

After the passing of the supplementary budget without any debate, the House was adjourned till tomorrow.

The House could not function today following the opposition protests against the attack on Swami Agnivesh and the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement ( Amendment) Act.

After the House was adjourned, Parliamentary Affairs Minister told reporters that the opposition did not want to run the House, which is "murder of democracy".
