Cape Town - The Jaguares have received a boost ahead of their Super Rugby quarter-final against the Lions with flank Pablo Matera available for selection.
Matera had been cited for dangerous play at a ruck in Saturday's 20-10 loss to the Sharks in Durban, but SANZAAR announced on Wednesday that the player had since been cleared of any wrongdoing.
The incident in question happened in the 18th minute of the match but went unpunished.
In his finding, Judicial Committee Chairman Robert Stelzner SC ruled the following: "Having conducted a detailed review of all the available evidence, including all camera angles and additional evidence, as well as evidence from the player and submissions from his legal representative, Aaron Lloyd, the Judicial Committee dismissed the citing under Law 9.20.
""The Judicial Committee deemed the act of foul play did not breach the Red Card threshold."
The Jaguares v Lions match on Saturday kicks off at 15:05.
