With BSP chief Mayawati reacting strongly to statement against Congress chief Rahul Gandhi by newly-appointed vice-president Jai Prakash Singh, leading to his expulsion from the party, the BSP workers meet in Lucknow concluded with the message to strengthen the base and get ready to fight all seats in UP. Sources said that state BSP chief RS Kushwaha while winding up the two-day meet in Lucknow on Tuesday maintained a low profile after Mayawati’s action.

He reportedly urged the cadre to go to districts and strengthen the party base in respective areas and prepare to fight in all Parliament seats.

On Tuesday morning, Mayawati made it clear that any alliance would only be only considered after the formal announcement of Parliament elections.

Interestingly, a senior BSP leader said that Mayawati’s statement of not using objectionable langauge against opposition leaders and that alliance will be considered after announcement of elections, pointed that the BSP chief was trying to keep options open so that in case of a hung verdict and the BSP getting sizeable seats, she could stake claim to be a PM candidate or support any party.

The leader said that Mayawati already had a good rapport with the BJP with whom she formed government in UP thrice and also with the Congress, whose coalition government was supported by her party at the Centre.
