BJP using Govt machinery for ‘poll preparations': Cong

The Congress party in Chhattisgarh has alleged that the ruling BJP Government in the State is using Government administrative machinery to prepare for the upcoming Assembly polls.

Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC) Chief Bhupesh Baghel and former Minister Mohammed Akbar in a joint press conference held here at Congress Bhawan on Tuesday said that an order of District Education Officer (DEO), Surguja had asked teachers to shower flower petals and release balloons during the recently held first phase of Vikas Yatra of Chief Minister Raman Singh.

The fact remains that the BJP failed to organise gathering of its workers during Vikas Yatra and issued the order through a Government officer to teachers, they said.

Presenting the copy of the order before the media persons, the leaders demanded immediate termination of services of the said official.

Such an incident has never occurred in the history of the State and is really astonishing, they said.

The Congress party leaders further claimed that they have a list of some district collectors who are actively working for the ‘Mission 65+’ of the BJP and are going to hand over the list to Election Commission of India at an appropriate time, they said.

It is the administration which is responsible for conduct of free and fair elections and it is expected that they perform their duties with honesty without being biased towards any political party, they said.
