Musical event at Ramkishan Mission Ashram

The music lovers of the city were mesmerized to watch the sitar recital by noted sitarist Aniruddha Joshi on Tuesday at Ramkishan Mission Ashram. He was accompanied by tabla player Ramendra Solanki.

The artists performed on the occasion of Guru Purnima. The audiences were enthralled to listen to the sitar maestros live before them.

The evening became mesmerizing as Aniruddha Joshi began playing sitar. His performance was followed by jhor jhala and finally he concluded the performance with Hindustani Classical Raga.

The energetic performances given by Aniruddha Joshi enthralled the audiences. The listeners witnessed a pleasant world of Hindustani Classical music at Ramkishan Mission Ashram.

The audiences were appreciating the performances with huge round of applauses as they gave delightful performances.

Born in a musical family of Raipur and grandson of Late Pt.Vishnu Krishna Joshi who established the Hindustani Classical vocal music in Chhattisgarh, Aniruddha had very little opportunity to take musical guidance with his great grandfather, and since then he is taking his musical lessons from his father Arvind Joshi, an eminent sitarist.

At the age of three and a half years Aniruddha started his musical journey with his mother Archana Joshi who taught him preliminary lessons in vocal music.

But soon she realized his attraction towards sitar playing, and since then his father Dr. Arvind Joshi started teaching him sitar.

In year 1996 Aniruddha was selected for junior scholarship awarded by C.C.R.T. (Center for Cultural Resource and Training) govt. of India New Delhi.

In the same year he started receiving training from Pt. Bimlendu Mukherjee, the doyen of Imdadkhani gharana of sitar and surbahar. Since then he has performed at various places in India and grabbed number of awards there.

His artistry has been appreciated by the audience and jury members of competitions in which he has participated.
