Girl ends life over lover’s betrayal

Kota: Betrayed in love, a 21-year-old girl on Wednesday morning committed suicide by hanging herself to the ceiling fan in her room in Subash Nagar II area under Anantpura police station of Kota city. On the basis of suicide note and report by her parents, police have booked the lover for abetment of suicide and handed over the body to family members after post-mortem by medical board.
“The girl identified as Jyoti Verma, resident of Subash Nagar II area committed suicide by hanging herself to the ceiling fan in her room on Wednesday morning,” SHO at Anantpura police station Amar Singh said. “The deceased girl, in the suicide note recovered from her room, alleged one Nanduram, a resident of Bombay Yojana area, of betraying her and not fulfilling his promise to marry her and therefore, she was finding it difficult to lead a happy life,” the SHO added. The deceased girl had lived with her lover Nanduram for about two months in Bombay Yojana area and a few days back she returned to her parents’ home in Subash Nagar II. The girl had been in a relationship with Nanduram for some time and he had promised to marry her.

“Police have lodged a case of abetment of suicide under section 306 of IPC against the lover Nanduram. Other sections of IPC are also likely to be incorporated in the case once the investigation into the matter is over,” the SHO added.
