NAGPUR: Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis assured that the state will file an FIR against the owner of the aircraft which crashed in Ghatkopar if it is revealed that he forced the pilot to conduct the test even after receiving negative remarks on the same.

A twin-engine King Air C 90 aircraft had crashed into the compound of an under-construction building, killing all four and a pedestrian on June 28. The aircraft was owned by UY Aviation.

The issue was raised by Congress legislator Vijay Wadettiwar in the lower house who demanded to file a case against the owner of the aircraft who forced the pilot to conduct the test even after receiving adverse remark due to prevailing bad weather conditions. “The government should file a culpable homicide case against the owner of the aircraft, as the tragic accident has killed 5 people,” said Wadettiwar.

CM Fadnavis while replying to the query said that the issue is not directly related to the state government but the DGCA. “They have initiated an enquiry into the case and the case of culpable homicide would be file only if it reveals in the DCGA enquiry that the owner forced the pilot to conduct the test even after adverse remark,” said CM.
