Hopes afloat as DU 6th cut-off list out

After having crossed its sanctioned strength of approx 56,000 in  merit based Undergraduate (UG) courses in first five cut-offs lists, the Delhi University (DU) came up with its sixth cut-off list on Tuesday. Chances are still available for reserved categories at several courses in the colleges at both north and south campus. On the other hand most of the general category seats in sought after courses in top notch DU colleges have already been occupied.

At Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), B.Com (Hons) is available at 79.50 percent for Persons with Disability (PwD) category and for Kashmiri Migrants (KM) at 87.375 percent. While B.A (Hons) Economics, is available for Other Backward Class (OBC), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and PwD at 96 percent, 94.25 percent, 90.75 percent and 87 percent respectively.

At Ramjas College in North Campus, chances are available for General category students in B.A Programme , B.A (Hons) English , B.A (Hons) History at 93.75 percent, 94.25 percent and 93.50 percent respectively. While in the science stream for General category students, chances are available in B.Sc. (Hons) Physics, B.Sc. (Hons) Zoology and B.Sc. Life Sciences at 95.66 percent, 94 percent and 89.33 percent.

At Hindu College, General category seats have been filled in all the courses. On the other hand B.A Programme is available for OBC and KM at 95.50 and 87 percent respectively. B.A (H) Economics is only open for SC category at 91 percent while B.A (H) English is open for SC, ST, PwD and KM at 88.75, 89.50, 86 percent ( both KM and PwD) respectively. While BA (Hons) Political Science is closed for all the categories.

At Gargi College, General category students still avail a chance in B.A (Hons) Economics and B.A (Hons) English at 95.75 and 93.75 percent respectively. On the other hand B.Com and B.Com (Hons) for General Category is available at 93.75 and 95.25 percent respectively.

Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College came out with its first cut-off in the language courses, While courses like Spanish and German are available at 80 percent , Chinese, French and Japanese are at 75 percent. On the other hand cut-offs for Punjabi and Russian are at 60 and 70 percent respectively.

At Satyawati College, General category students still avail a chance in B.A Programme (84-84.25 percent), B.A (H) English at 87-88.75 percent, B.A (Hons) Hindi in between 76-77.75 percent respectively. For OBC, B.Com (Hons) is available in between 75-79.75 percent while B.A Programme in between 76-76.75 percent .

While at the Non-Collegiate Women Education Board (NCWEB) which came out with its 4th cut-off list for admission to its B.A Programme and B.Com, changes are available at very few colleges for General category students in B.A Programme contrary to the B.Com where opportunity is still there. B.Com at NCWEB is available at Aditi Mahavidyalaya , Bhagini Nivedita, Jesus and Mary College, Motilal Nehru College among others at 58, 56, 75 and 66 percent respectively. The highest percentage for B.Com is at Miranda House at 81 percent while for B.A Programme the highest percentage of NCWEB is 64 at Aryabhatta College.
