Rulebook for a New age

|

Due to the disruption of human values of modesty and humility, the world has morphed into hell. By re-establishing the values, a new age can be ushered into this world , says Rajyogi Brahmakumar Nikunj ji

A number of attempts have been made by sages, saints and reformist pioneers to make the world a better place by trying to incorporate in people higher values of love, honesty and compassion. They have emphasised on many such values but instead of improving, the world has only degraded the scale of moral values. What could be the cause for this downfall? Why has there been degeneration when attempts have been made to stop the rot?

According to saints, humanity differentiates a human from a demon or a man. People with devilish traits or bad sanskars are not only unhappy with their lives but they also leave no stone unturned to make others unhappy. Such people, in order to make their selfish ends meet, do not care whether their actions may hurt others or cause them mental agony. They end up violating rules of conduct, morality and social conventions. Hence, it is a common saying that “a demon doesn’t know the value of honesty, faithfulness, obedience, and civility whereas, for a man, these are the basic values.”

A demon’s temperament combines crudeness and wickedness while a man’s disposition has discipline combined with sweetness. Therefore, honesty, faithfulness, integrity, civility, discipline or self-control and a balance of mind are human virtues. They help maintain stability, peace and love in human relationships, thereby preventing troubles, quarrels and consequent peacelessness in the world.

However, the current scenario is grim and worrisome. The society is tightly gripped by devilish powers that force man to indulge in various cruel and destructive activities. As a result people commit crimes and cause disruption in social life by resorting to sabotage and vandalism, thereby destroying the peace and harmony. Passions like lust, anger, avarice, attachment and arrogance lead a person to devilry.

It is quite obvious that a lust-ridden person would commit offences like eve-teasing and sexual assault. Similarly, a person full of  anger carries it everywhere, inflicting mental pain and the resultant remorse all around. His fuming eyes, rage, boiling temper and harsh words piercing like poisonous thorns, are the reasons of his number of offences. Likewise, a person driven by greed or arrogance is liable to commit similar acts.

Practically, due to the disruption of these human values of modesty and humility, the world has morphed into hell. By re-establishing these values, a new age can be ushered into this world.

Let us make a strong resolve to lead our lives strictly based on the principles laid down by the Supreme and achieve our ultimate goal of becoming a divine being.
