Four sent behind bars for child trafficking

Four persons including three clerics and a cook were sent behind bars in the child trafficking case busted on Thursday. On the order of Ranchi Rail Court, all four were taken into judicial custody and sent to Hotwar Jail, informed E Toppo, Rail Inspector.

The accused have been identified as Md Samsher, Md Gulam Rasool, Md Tarokajori and Lal Mohammad residents of Jamtara, he said.

On Thursday eighty-four children were rescued at Bokaro Railway Station from Dhanbad - Alappuzha (Bokaro Express-13351) train by Railway Police, on specific leads from CID, Ranchi while Railway Child Line officials rescued 21 children at Ranchi Railway Station from the same train.

“Among the rescued children all were below 11 years, belongs to Jamtara, Dhanbad, Deoghar and Giridih. Today all of them were handed over to their parents,” informed Dr Vinay, CWC President. During interrogation, they (accused) said that they were taking the children to Andhra Pradesh to get them admitted in a Madarsha for their education. But the investigation found them accused of illegally trafficking the children to AP, so they were sent into custody, said Dr Vinay.
