Xiaomi Redmi 5A with 3000mAh battery to go on sale today on Flipkart at 12 pm

Xiaomi's entry-level smartphone, Redmi 5A is all set to go on sale today on Flipkart. The handset will be available starting 12 pm today via a flash sale on the domestic e-commerce website.

The Redmi 5A comes at a starting price of Rs 5,999, with the base variant offering 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. The other variant offers 3GB RAM, packs a 32GB internal storage and costs Rs 6,999. Flipkart is offering a no-cost EMI starting Rs 2,000/month. There is a 5% instant discount on visa card and another 5% off on Axis Bank Buzz credit card. Also, both variants come in four colour options: Blue, Gold, Rose Gold and Grey.

In terms of specs, the Xiaomi Redmi 5A offers a 5-inch HD display with 720x1280 pixel resolution. It is powered by quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor with 2GB/3GB RAM options. The handset packs a 3000mAh battery that is claimed to deliver 8 days of standby.

Running on MIUI 9, the Redmi 5A offers a dedicated microSD card slot with upto 128GB of expandable storage and a dual microSD card support. This means that users will be able to use two sim cards and a microSD card slot separately without compromising the sim usage.

For imaging duties, there is a single rear camera of 13MP camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 5MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. Connectivity options on the device include all the basic wireless communication such as 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi and micro-USB.

Measuring 140.4x70.1x8.3mm and misses out a fingerprint sensor. The Xiaomi Redmi 5A boasts of featuring a Dual Graphite Sheet coating at the back that is said to keep the temperature of the handset cooler by up to 1 degree more.
