Car breakdown leads to traffic jam at airport

A breakdown of a four wheeler has resulted in massive traffic jam at Dabolim airport junction on Monday afternoon.

As per available information, a four wheeler heading towards Chicalim from Dabolim broke down at around 1 pm near the railway overbridge at Dabolim airport junction. As the vehicles were moving on a slower pace due to heavy rain, the traffic at Dabolim airport come to a grinding halt for about 10 minutes.

The vehicles moving towards Dabolim airport from Chicalim and those vehicles which were heading towards Chicalim and Shantinagar from Verna besides other vehicles moving towards Verna from Chicalim and Shantinagar via Dabolim airport were stuck for about 10 minutes at Dabolim airport junction.

Despite traffic signals in operation, the vehicles failed to move at the major intersection, leading to chaos and confusion among the motorists. Passengers who were supposed to travel by flights were also stuck in their vehicles due to the massive traffic jam.
