GURUGRAM: Water woes return to DLF 3 as residents of blocks U and T grappled with taps running dry, leaving them with no option but to buy water from private tanks.
Officials said a repair work had disrupted the water supply which would be restored soon.DLF 3 residents said the supply was dwindling over the last three days. “The water problem here is a harassment for us,” said Prateek, a resident of Block U.
“We are not able to draw water. Taps are running dry. We only get water twice a day. Though supply had improved for some time, but over the last few days, it seems to be sputtering again.”
Residents also said that irregular water supply was becoming a serious issue in DLF Phase 3. “Water and electricity, those are our major problems right now,” said Jyoti, another resident.
“We are forced to buy from tankers at high prices and fill up our tanks. Water is becoming expensive now. We never thought we would have to spend so much money on water. We earnestly hope this issue is resolved at the earliest.”
Residents said there were power cuts at the time when the water supply starts. “It seems that so many people are waiting for the water supply to resume that everyone switches on the pump at the same time. The load trips the power supply,” another resident said.
DLF officials, on condition of anonymity, said the supply would resume soon.
