Amy Sunio-Abarquez, the CEO and President of Miss Tourism Philippines Philippines, Inc. said that the pageant looks for global beauties who will help proceed responsible and sustainable tourism worldwide.
To quote Abarquez, “MTAI envisions itself as an Asian center stage for diverse beauties from around the world where they will get to showcase the resplendence of their nation’s citizens, culture, crafts, and cuisine.” He will be working alongside philanthropist and businessman Antonio B. Abarquez, chief financial officer.
Countries that have confirmed participation in the international pageant are the Philippines, South Africa, Ghana, Namibia, Liberia, Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Lebanon, Albania, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Slovenia, Kosovo, Russia, Australia,New Zealand, Canada, USA, Mexico, etc.
Abarquez said that the pageant may consider two candidates for every country because “they have their own tourism to promote.” The finals of the Miss Tourism Asia International will be held on December 5.
Abarquez said that the Philippines has so much to offer these days – “Since I’ve been traveling around the world and I am not bragging. I think the Philippines is still one of the countries that they really love to visit. I am positive that tourism is still the No. 1 income generator here in the Philippines. We have so many pristine beaches around us and I think that’s one encouragement for them to visit us.”
The Miss Tourism Philippines 2018 pageant is officially endorsed by the Department of Tourism and Department of Interior and Local Government.
The coronation night of Miss Tourism Philippines 2018 pageant will be held at the Chateau Royale in Nasugbu, Batangas on August 25.
