Asian Schools Chess: Arushi bags 5 medals

Little girl Arushi Srichandan made Odisha proud by clinching five medals, including two gold, in the 14th Asian Schools Chess Championship 2018 the recently concluded in Sri Lanka.

Arushi bagged two bronze medals, two gold and one silver in Under-9 category of Asian Schools Chess Championship 2018 held at Waskaduwa, Sri Lanka.

While she won a bronze in rapid individual event, she clinched a gold in team event on first day.

On the concluding day, Arushi won another gold in team event and bronze in individual event earning six points from seven rounds in 5-minute blitz during the competition.

She won a silver medal in the category of under-9 in the event.

Arushi, the daughter of Ajit Srichandan and Sipra Srichandan, is a class IV student of DAV Public School in Chandrasekharpur in Bhubaneswar.

Currently, she has 1185 elo rating.
