In the case of alleged ragging of a sexual nature and other anomalies in a prominent residential school for girls in Mussoorie, the Uttrakhand State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) is planning to call the school principal for a hearing on Monday.

Talking to The Pioneer, chairperson of Uttrakhand SCPCR Usha Negi said, “The case has been due for quite some time. Different departments conducted inquiries in the past. In addition to this we are conducting a hearing of the case on Monday. The school principal and other officials of the school have been called for submitting their answer to the allegations.”

She further said, “I was out of town for some days due to which the hearing could not be held earlier. But, it will be held now and necessary directions will be issued by the commission thereafter.”

It will be recalled that this case had come to light after four girls from the Mussoorie International School had gone missing from the school and were later found in Delhi. The guardian of one of the girls wrote to the SCPCR alleging ragging and sexual abuse by senior students in April. Later on the directions of the commission, the education department had formed a committee to investigate the allegations.
