Padma, the woman from Makkanahalli Palya in Periyapatna near here, who disappeared two years ago and has now recovered at the Himachal Hospital of Mental Health and Rehabilitation, will soon be brought back to Mysuru, said Deputy Commissioner Abhiram Sankar.
Mr. Sankar said he had spoken to the doctor at the hospital on Saturday night. “We will work out the logistics and the team that will go to Shimla and bring Ms. Padma back to Mysuru very soon,” he said.
He said the formalities will be worked out by the district administration in consultation with the concerned district departments in Bengaluru and authorities in Shimla.
Depression
Ms. Padma had left Mysuru two years ago as she suffered from depression. She developed the condition after her husband, from Channarayapatna in Hassan district, abandoned her a few years ago as she had not yet borne a child. She had apparently boarded a train in Channarayapatna and landed in Shimla after going to Chandigarh and New Delhi. The police in Shimla had admitted her to the hospital for treatment.
Close relatives of Padma, who has now recovered completely, however, said they were unable to bring her back to their village and keep her as Padma’s mother Parvathamma’s house had collapsed and it would take her a few more months to repair it.
The district administration will have to make a decision on the place of her rehabilitation after bringing her back from Shimla.
