LG has debuted its AI-enabled ‘ThinQ’ products in India with a bang. The South Korean tech firm introduced as many as 25 TVs in India, all of which are being touted for their AI-based capabilities. The line up comes across OLED TVs, Super UHD, UHD and Smart TV categories.

The firm claims voice commands as one of the major AI features that one will find in ThinQ TVs. Users will be able to give voice commands on the remote itself to search content instead of typing it manually and searching for content. “These TVs doesn’t only work on fixed voice commands but also understand the intent of query before providing a search result,” adds the firm. Users have over 800 voice commands to perform actions, most of which work offline as well.

The flagship OLED TV showcased by LG was the ThinQ W8. The TV model along with a few others is powered by the A9 processor that is said to render accurate colours, better image rendering while maintaining the viewing angles. It also supports HFR or High Frame Rate that digitally converts motion images to 120fps. The TVs also come with Dolby Atmos tech for 260-degree surround sound.

The premium models also support full palette of HDR, including Dolby Vision, advanced HDR by Technicolor, HDR10 Pro and HLG Pro.

The ThinQ series in particular not only includes AI-based voice command support but is also said to connect with gaming consoles and external sound bars without struggling. It has ‘Mobile Connection Overlay’ letting customers view mobile and television screens simultaneously. There’s also a 2-way Bluetooth feature that lets users listen to the TV audio wirelessly and connect the mobile with LG TV as well.

LG’s 2018 SUPER UHD TV line up is powered by the A7 processor and sports Nano Cell tech with full array dimming backlighting to deliver deeper blacks, enhanced contrast and reduced light bleeding. Nano cell tech is also said to show 64 times richer colours as compared to conventional TVs.

The TVs are powered by LG’s own WebOS and support Magic Remote's point, click, scroll and voice commands. You can get OLED, Super UHD, UHD and smart TVs in a price range starting from Rs 32,500 to Rs 29,49,990.

“Artificial intelligence is definitely the road ahead for all our future products. AI functionality backed up with extensive research is incorporated in televisions with an aim of delivering a unique and more intuitive experience. As a matter of fact, we have taken a step ahead to implement AI function across our range of smart televisions. At LG our interest is in improving the user lifestyle and convenience. We are launching 25 models of AI today across all segment,” said Younchul Park, Director-Home Entertainment, LG Electronics India at the time of the launch.
