A criminal allegedly involved in two dozen cases and a drug peddler have been arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) of Haryana Police in separate cases, the police said on Sunday.
Acting on a tip-off, the STF team laid a trap in Noida Sector 23 and arrested Pradeep Lohar alias Kala. Several cases of murder, dacoity and robbery are registered against him at different police stations, including Delhi. Kala will be produced before the court on Monday.
A resident of Haryana’s Hisar, Kala had been on the run for the past one year. The police said Kala had shot his accomplice Pradeep Jamwadi and his mother, following which a case was registered against him at Hisar’s Civil Line police station.
In another case, the STF arrested a resident of Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi district and allegedly seized over 4 kg cannabis. A car allegedly used to transport the narcotics has been seized.
Acting on a tip-off, the team arrested Jitender in Sonepat. The police also seized 1kg cannabis from a hotel in Delhi at his instance. The police said the matter is under investigation and that they are trying to find a link between him and the drug mafia. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act in this connection.
