Accusing the BJP government in Rajasthan of misleading the youth of the state in the name of creating job opportunities, the Congress has demanded that the Vasundhara Raje government release a white paper on skill development and employment.

“The BJP had in the last assembly elections promised employment to 15 lakh youths, but it is unfortunate that even 10 percent of the target could not be achieved,” said Sachin Pilot, the state Congress president.

He claimed that even though skill development schemes are being publicised across the country, irregularities in several such centre have come to the fore and subsequently those had to be closed. “This shows that skill development is just a slogan so that youths could be misled,” Pilot alleged, and demanded that the government release a white paper giving details of how many youths were given employment after they were imparted skill training.

The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) of Rajasthan also took out a protest march in Jaipur alleging misuse of government funds in the Prime Minister’s recent rally and submitted a memorandum to the governor in name of the President demanding a probe into the rally organisation.

The rally, led by Pilot, was taken out from the PCC office to the Civil Lines crossing.

Earlier, addressing the party workers at the PCC office, Pilot said that the Raje government organised the PM rally using the public money to hide its four and half years of corruption, but people are “very well” aware of it. “Over 150 farmers have committed suicide, every section of the society is suffering, but after four years CM and ministers are doing drama in the name of Jan-Samvad (public dialogue),” he alleged.

He said time has come when all sections of the society including farmers, labourers, students, employees and traders should come forward to give a reply to the BJP’s atrocities. “We have submitted a memorandum to governor in name of President of India demanding probe into the scam of misuse of government funds in PM rally. If BJP is honest, then let a probe be conducted by an independent agency, which will clear that BJP used government funds to hold election meeting,” he alleged.

Jaipur district Congress president Pratap Singh Khachariyawas said the state people are not getting allotted quota of wheat, pension and treatment, which is affecting the poor and middle-class families. “If arrangements to provide wheat, pension and free medicine are not made in 15 days, then CM residence will be gheraod,” he said.

In a sarcastic comment, AICC general secretary Mohan Prakash said if PM Narendra Modi wanted to felicitate beneficiaries, he should have felicitated Neerav Modi and Vijay Mallya, who ran away with crores of rupees of public money with the PM’s blessing and were actual beneficiaries.
