AGRA/FIROZABAD:
Firozabad police arrested a
woman’s ex-boyfriend for alleged murder of her husband, who was shot dead from point-blank range on Sunday early morning.
Vijay Kumar (25) was neighbour of victim Yogesh Kumar's (26) in
Kachpura village of Narkhi police jurisdiction. According to police, Vijay was earlier in relationship with Yogesh’s wife, who is now mother of three boys.
Pravender Kumar Singh, station house officer of Narkhi, said, “On Sunday morning at around 3am, Vijay, armed with country-made pistol, killed Yogesh from point-blank range while he was sleeping outside his house. After the kill, Vijay fled away from village.”
“During questioning with victim’s family, we came to know that sometimes back Vijay had threatened to kill Yogesh, after he confronted him for trying to contact him. This infuriated Vijay and he decided to eliminate him and take over his property, as Yogesh was the only son of his parents which six bigah land,” he added.
Vijay was nabbed from Kachpura village on Monday. He was booked for murder under IPC section 302 (murder).
According to police, Vijay was earlier in relationship with Yogesh’s wife, who is now mother of three boys.
