Naxalites will affect the results
This district suffers from Naxalite terror. Naxalite’s have a capacity to affect the results in Paraswada, Bhaiyar and Lanji. Out of six assembly seats, Bhaiyar seat is reserved for schedule tribes. Congress and BJP have three-three legislatures each in the district.
Gauri Shankar Bisen is the only Minister from the district, who is the legislature from Balaghat. Well, Congress and BJP are the two prominent parties but Samajwadi Party (SP), Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) and Gongpa has also some presence here.
In district politics, Congress cannot be taken lightly. Despite the Shivraj waves in the last elections, Congress occupied half the district whereas in 2008 elections, it has only won two seats.
Now this time, to strengthen its position, it can tie-up an alliance with some small parties. If not doing this, then at district level it can include some stalwarts or can take the chance to fight the election with them. If there will be an alliance created between Congress and SP-BSP then difficulties may arise for BJP.
From Lanji seat, Congress Hina Kanvre is the legislature. Her father had been the Cabinet Minister in the government of Digvijay Singh and Naxalites has killed him in the year 1999. Hine had defeated BJP’s Ramesh Bhatere with huge margin.
Bhatere has snatched the seat from Congress by defeating Kanvre’s widow and Hina’s mother Pushplata Kanvre in 2008 elections. Now Bhatere has a full hope that BJP will again rely on him. But the names of former Janpad Chairman Rajkumar Karrahe, State’s Women front Chairman Lata Elker and District Panchayat Member Gauri Rakesh Upwanshi are running.
On the other hand Gauri Kanvre is full confident for the claiming whereas it is confirmed that former legislature Kishore Samrite will jump in the field. Presently he is in BSP. He has more trust in himself than party.
Paraswada seat is presently occupied by Congress. Its legislature Madhu Bhagat had defeated BJP’s Ramkishore Kanvre with around three thousand votes. Before this in the year 2008, Ramkishore Kanvre had enrolled hi victory by defeating district’s big personality Kankar Munjare. Munjare had landed on the ticket of Shivsena.
Presently he is in Samajwadi Party. The discussions are going on that he will launch his son Shantanu on this seat and will get himself in the field from Vara Sivni. Experts say that BJP could take former district president Uday Singh Nagpure in place of Ramkishore Kanvre whereas Madhu Bhagat has a full confidence that BPJ will again give him a chance although his position is considered to be poor. Sanjay Uiekay of Congress is the legislature from Bhaiyar.
In the last elections, he had defeated BJP’s Bhagat by a good margin and took revenge for the previous defeat. Well, Congress’s position is being said well. Uiekay and Netam have a confidence that they will be face to face in the upcoming elections. It is a different matter that seeing previous huge margin, BJP could take the decisions of taking another winning candidate.
Due to this, the names of his wife and District Panchayat Vice-Chairman Anupama Netam and Bhuddhan Singh Marskole are running. From Vara Sivni due to the defeat of Congress Candidate Pradeep Jaiswal with BJP, Congress had to lose the seat.
There are possibilities of repeating the candidature of the sitting legislature Yogendre Nirmal. But former Scout Guide Commissioner Sanjay Singh and Chagan Hanwat are trying their best for the ticket. Well there is a discussion that SP’s Kankar Munjare can also change his seat and try his luck from this seat.
As far as Balaghat is concerned, tough fight had been given by SP’s Anubha Munjare to BJP’s candidate Gauri Shankar Bisen. Then he could have saved his seat by winning with the margin of only 2500 votes. This time also Anubha is ready to get in the field with full preparations.
If his party gets the support of Congress then the crises are fixed for BJP. If this doesn’t happen then Congress has to work very hard to find the winning candidate. On the other hand it is not yet confirmed the BJP will definitely get Gauri Shankar Bisen to fight the election.
As an alternative, the names of his Wife and District Panchayat Chairman Rekha Bisen of his daughter Mausam Harinede and BJP’s District President Ramesh Ranglani are running on who can be honored with the ticket.
