Multi-objective algorithm talk held in R’kela

| | ROURKELA | in Bhubaneswar

A technical paper meeting was organised by the Institution of Engineers (India), Rourkela centre, here.

In the beginning Honorary Secretary Prof SK Sahu gave a brief introduction on the theme “Multi-objective Generic Algorithm and its Application to Radar Signal Processing,” and invited speaker Prof Ajit Kumar Sahoo, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, NIT, Rourkela, to present his paper.

Prof Sahoo explained that multi-objective optimisation is the process of simultaneously optimizing two or more conflicting objectives subject to certain constraints and also examples of multi-objective optimisation problems.

He also elaborated on Non Dominated Sorting based Genetic Algorithm II (NSGA- II).

He further spoke about application to radar pulse compression in a pulse radar system. He concluded by saying that that NSGA-II is a potential candidate for multi-objective optimisation.

The presentation was followed by a brief interactive discussion on the central theme.
