CHENNAI: Income-tax sleuths searched the premises of SPK Group, a road contractor believed to be close to political bigwigs, in Chennai and several other places in the state.
The search which is being spearheaded by the top officials of Income tax deprtment began at around 5am in the city, sources said. In Chennai, searches are going on in the plush residence near Kasturi Rangan Salai belonging to one Deepak. Searches were also carried out in under construction building in Abhiramapuram. "The Income Tax officials came around 5am and they rummaged everything and left with some documents," sources at the site said. Searches werer also conducted at Besant Nagar and several other places.
