LUCKNOW: A domestic help was arrested along with two others on Sunday for poisoning a businessman, his wife and grandson. The accused-Vansh, Mukesh Baghel and Nand Kishore-are from
Firozabad.
Businessman Jagdish Prasad Agarwal, his wife Shalini and grandson Lakshya of Mahanagar were admitted to a private hospital by their relatives who had gone to visit them on Saturday afternoon and found them unconscious.
Police had detained two domestic aides, aged 14 and 16 years, on Saturday night. However, the 16-year-old was found to be a major and identified as Vansh (20) of Firozabad.
Vansh told police that in June he had seen Jagdish putting Rs 10 lakh cash in a cupboard and decided to steal it. A day later, he left for Firozabad where he disclosed it to Kishore and Baghel, both history-sheeters, said police.
"They hatched a plan to steal the money after poisoning the elderly couple and their grandson. Vansh returned to Lucknow and Baghel and Kishore came along with him," said ASP (trans-Gomti) Harendra Kumar.
On July 13, Vansh purchased 60 tablets of Alprax 0.5mg and mixed them in food served to Jagdish, Shalini and Lakshya. Kishore and Baghel were called but when the trio made the attempt, they found Lakshya awake and fled, said Kumar.
SHO Mahanagar Vikas Pandey said the minor help was asleep when the incident took place. "We had detained him along with Vansh who spilled the beans. A team in Firozabad will arrest the others," said the SHO.
