TIRUPUR: Five people suffered injuries and traffic was disrupted for more than an hour after a
multi-vehicle collision on the Salem-Kochi National Highway near Avinashi in Tirupur district of
Tamil Nadu on Monday morning.
The multi-vehicle collision happened after a minitruck overturned at Thekkalur near Avinashi.
Police said the minitruck carrying construction equipment from Tirupur to Coimbatore overturned due to due to overweight. Two cars, two SUVs and a bus that followed the minitruck collided one after another.
The injured, including the minitruck driver, were admitted to Avinashi Government Hospital.
The Avinashi police registered a case.
