Command controls to come up in Smart Cities

Nagpur: Durga Shanker Mishra, the secretary of housing and urban affairs, said 55 integrated command and control centres will come up in Smart Cities. “10 centers are already operational. One is all set to become operational in Nagpur. Works on 25 centres are going on and another 20 are in the tender stage,” he said.
Under the Rs 520 crore Smart and Safe City project, the state government in association with the NMC and police department developed the city operation centre at the NMC head office and constructed a command and control centre at the police headquarters.

Mishra added Maharashtra was second best among all states under Swachh Bharat Mission. “All urban areas in Maharashtra are open defecation free. Construction of 1 lakh houses going on under PM Housing For All project. All these projects will result into a ‘Naya Bharat’ in 2022 when India will be celebrating 75 years of independence,” he said.

The minister of state (independent charge) Hardeep Singh Puri did not attend the programme.
