Elizabeth A. Atchison, MD, specializing in vitreoretinal surgery, will soon begin seeing Ophthalmology LTD patients.

On August 13, 2018, Elizabeth A. Atchison, MD, will begin seeing Ophthalmology LTD patients at the practice’s Sioux Falls, SD, and Yankton, MN, offices. Dr. Atchison’s services will include vitreoretinal surgery and the treatment of retinal diseases.
“I grew up in Sioux Falls, and my husband and I love the people and the area,” says Dr. Atchison. “I was drawn to Ophthalmology LTD because of their commitment to great patient care and reputation for excellence in ophthalmic care. I was drawn to this profession in general because, in many cases, we get to follow patients over their lifetimes. It’s wonderful, and rare in a surgical field, to get that kind of continuity.”
Dr. Atchison completed her undergraduate at Saint Olaf College in Northfield, MN, and went on to earn a medical degree from Chicago’s Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine. She returned home for a transitional residency at the University of South Dakota, before setting off again to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, where she served her ophthalmology residency. Dr. Atchison took her training a step further, completing a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at Illinois Retina Associates and Rush University.
